There is so much more in store for fans in the upcoming season of the dark-fantasy series. New characters will enter the story and season two will definitely delve much more into the Chise and Elias’ story. But before that, here are 15 interesting facts that will help you remember and relive some of the most significant things that were featured in season one:
1. Chise is Worth Five Million Pounds
Instead of ending her meaningless life, Chise was convinced to sell her life to someone who will certainly care for it. Through a black market auction arranged by Seth Noel, Chise sold herself to slavery in exchange for a home. The highest bid for her was from Elias Ainsworth, his future master, and husband. Elias bought Chise for a whopping five million pounds paid through a cheque.
Chise did not only gain a home and companions from her selling her life. In fact, she was able to get half the money Elias bought her for. Noel gave Chise her life savings money worth 2.5 million to save the dragon children who were abducted and were being auctioned from the same black market.

2. Fairies Prefer to Be Called Neighbors
After being bought by Elias, Chise was brought to a magical place somewhere in England. Since Elias already has an unexplained physical appearance. It was no shock to see fairies gathering and flying around Chise in the first episode.
However, in The Ancient Magus’ Bride, fairies or fae prefers to be called Neighbors. Ariel, a small bird-like creature, advice Chise, in the beginning, to not called them fairies because it is such an unrefined word. Aside from Neighbors, they also like being called your or my good friends.

3. Silver Lady is the Perfect Housekeeper
Silver Lady or commonly known as Silky is blessed with impressive housekeeping skills. Silky is capable of doing all-around chores, like cleaning, cooking, washing the dishes, and running errands. Silky is a former Banshee who lost her clan. Endlessly crying and wandering, Springgan transformed her into Silky as a way to help her.
As the perfect housekeeper, Silky also possess housekeeping magic which makes her capable of altering the interior of the house making them more comfortable and beautiful for the family she serves, but mainly for her beloved Chise. Although she may seem emotionless, Silky treasures her family so much and constantly worries about Chise.

4. Ruth Asked Chise to be Her Familiar
In most cases, it is always the master who decided whether to take a certain magical creature as his or her familiar. However, in The Ancient Magus’ Bride, Ruth was actually the one who opened up the topic to Chise. Ruth had an encounter with Chise who has an uncanny resemblance with his former owner.
After losing his original owner Isabel, Ruth formerly known as Ulysses asked Chise to make him her familiar for he prefers it rather than becoming Joseph’s chimera. Even the blue flame scolded Ruth a bit because it is never normal for a neighbor to be the one asking to become a familiar. Well, that’s Ruth for you.

5. Elias Ainsworth Lacks Empathy
He may be a hundred or a thousand years old, but Elias Ainsworth is no doubt a kid at heart. The powerful mage is always learning every single day just like most of us. When Elias met Chise he realized that he has so much to learn about him dealing with his own feelings.
Elias finds it difficult to comprehend the feelings of someone else which sometimes portrays him as an insensitive person. However, when his bond with Chise deepens they both came to an agreement and that is for Chise to teach him ways to understand the feelings of others and himself better. Yup, she turned out in becoming his master’s too.

6. Rahab is Fond of Giving Names
Rahab is a mage who has also lived for centuries. She is the magic teacher or sensei of Lindel. When Lindel unexpectedly met Elias they both traveled to Rahab to seek answers regarding what, who, and where Elias Ainsworth came from. However, even the century-old mage didn’t know a thing about him. Instead, she just gave Elias his name for him to have an identity. In fact, it was also Rahab who gave Lindel his name.

7. Lindel is Technically Elias’ Guardian
Lindel was the one who found Elias wandering alone in the midst of the snowfall. Because of pity, Lindel decided to take Elias with him on his adventures. They both traveled together and he has also taught Elias a lot of things, such as cooking and opening up about his feelings.
He is basically the father figure of the ancient mage and at the same time his long-term friend. When Elias bought Chise, Lindel sent a word to Elias that he wants to meet his granddaughter and invited her to the Dragons’ Aerie. Maybe due to him existing for so long, he prefers to address Chise as her grandchild.

11. Elias Have Seen Chise Naked!
Okay, hear me out on this one! I know that these two are still at the earliest stage of their relationship. However, even before becoming his fiance, Elias has seen her future Bride naked. Since Chise was auctioned at a black market as a slave she wasn’t that neat at first.
So when Elias took her home the first thing he did is to bathe her. Although Chise was completely against the idea due to her being shy, Elias still insisted and bathe a father giving his child a bath. You have to agree with me when I say that their relationship is much more complex than it seems.

12. Chise’s Magical Necklace
The necklace of Chise was actually gifted to her by Elias. This is probably the first thing that marked their master-slave relationship. The necklace allows Elias to track the location of Chise and whom she is with. The necklace’s hole was naturally created at the bottom of a river. By looking right through it, Chise can see the actual form of the neighbors that comes and visits them.

13. Chise Taking Care of Joseph
Though Joseph and Chise started off on the wrong foot. Joseph ends up being taken care of by Chise. He might have been the anti-hero of the series. But at the end of it, Joseph was seen in the underground area of Chise and Ellias’ pavillion. Chise seemed to take responsibility for taking care of him by always checking on Joseph and bringing him some water while he pretends to sleep.
Did he change? Who knows! Because he was still annoyed by Chise in the last episode of season one but not like before. It’s safe to say that Chise’s hug definitely conveyed her warm affection and understanding toward him.

14. Chise’s Lullaby is Stronger than her Sleeping Potions
As Elias’ apprentice, Chise has also tried experimenting with some magical chemicals. She has also successfully made an effective sleeping potion. But, it’s not even close to how effective her lullaby is. After Elias’ threw some tantrums because of jealousy, Chise ends up putting him to sleep by singing him a lullaby.
Chise being so powerful has also imbued her singing with magical powers that put Elias to sleep for a few days. She went to Angelica to ask for help and thankfully Elias woke up right after taking the potion.

15. Stella and Chise’s Age Gap
When they first met it seemed like Chise and Stella’s ages weren’t that big of a difference. Stella is her first friend who constantly gives her advice in life. Chise finding out Stella’s age is one of the cutest scenes in the series because she was completely shocked to know that she was six years younger than her.
Chise is already 16 while Stella is only 10; however, they were still able to form a strong bond of friendship. She is just an ordinary human, unlike Chise. Stella possesses a high level of maturity maybe due to her being an older sister. Plus, she baked the yummiest sweets even at her age.
