Upcoming rom-com anime More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers is scheduled to premier soon. But before its actual release, Kadokawa teases fans with the release of the anime’s second trailer on Friday. The promotional video was posted on Kodakawa’s official YouTube channel and previews the opening song, “TRUE FOOL LOVE” by Liyuu.

The whole video runs for 1 minute and 33 seconds and gives a fun synopsis of the story. The main characters were also introduced as follows:
- The introvert, Jiro Yakuin
- The extrovert, Akari Watanabe
- Jiros’ shy childhood friend, Shiori Sakurazaka
- Cool handsome classmate, Minami Tenjin

More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers is based on a manga of the same name by Yuki Kanamaru. It was first released in 2018 in Young Ace magazine.
Kadokawa describes the story in its YouTube channel as follows:
Jiro Yakuin, a dull high school boy, ends up living with a cute gal named Akari Watanabe in the “Fu-fu Jishyu”. The two, who are in love with someone else, decide to play husband and wife for real in order to exchange partners. However, during their married life, they learn of each other’s attraction to each other and become aware of each other’s attraction to each other….

The anime adaptation is scheduled to debut in Japan on October 9. Its cast includes the following:
- Saori Oonishi as Akari Watanabe
- Seiichirou Yamashita as Jirou Yakuin
- Saki Miyashita as Shiori Sakurazaka
- Toshiki Matsuda as Minami Tenjin
Takao Kato will serve as the TV anime’s chief director, while Junichi Yamamoto will be the director. Screenplay is by Naruhisa Arakawa, and Chizuru Kobayashi will take care of the character designer.
