The TV anime adaptation of the popular South Korean web novel and manhwa series A Returner’s Magic Should Be Special is currently airing. It has revealed a new key visual and PV trailer. The anime debuted on October 7, 2023.
Beta Class vs Alpha Class
The new visual and trailer show the upcoming confrontation between the Beta class students and the Alpha class members. Desir Herrman, Romantica Eru, and Pram Schneider are the main characters of the Beta class. They will face the elite students of the Alpha class in a fierce competition.

The trailer also reviews some of the scenes from the first seven episodes of the anime series. It gives a glimpse of Desir’s impending fight with Azest Kingscrown, the leader of the Alpha class. The seventh episode was broadcasted on November 19, 2023. Crunchyroll streams the series as it airs in Japan.

Source Material
The anime is based on a South Korean web novel by Usonan. The web novel was serialized on the KakaoPage digital comic and fiction platform from September 2, 2016 to August 3, 2019. It has eight volumes in total.
A manhwa version with new illustrations by Wookjakga has been published on KakaoPage since May 19, 2018. It has four volumes as of May 2023. The manhwa is digitally distributed by Piccoma and printed by Kadokawa Shoten in Japan. Yen Press also publishes the series in English print.
Tapas Media and TappyToon release the English web comic of A Returner’s Magic Should Be Special. The synopsis is:
For 10 years, magical prodigy Desir and his party have been battling inside the mysterious Shadow Labyrinth — and against the end of the world. Much of humanity has already perished and just as Desir is about to be killed, he’s sent back 13 years into the past.
