A sci-fi manga is coming to life! Ai no Idenshi (The Genes of AI) is announced to be receiving an anime adaptation produced by Studio Madhouse. It is the very same studio where the acclaimed Death Note, One Punch Man, and Hunter x Hunter 2011 reboot came from. In other words, Ai no Idenshi is in good hands!
The first trailer revealing the cast and staff was also shared, alongside the key visual. There are no announcements yet about its premiere date, but let’s keep our fingers crossed it will come soon! The official website and Twitter of the anime will be giving the updates soon.
Ai no Idenshi Synopsis
Dr. Hikaru Sudou is a human doctor who “treats” AIs and humanoids with implants in the distant future. Sudou also engages in activities such as practicing illegal medical procedures, so he has the undercover name “Moggadeet”.
When a man came to him for help because his humanoid wife contracted a virus when he was trying to back up her data, Sudou proposed something risky. Sudou suggested in rewriting her memory based on the back up data. Would it really work? Would the woman’s memories be altered?

The teaser mainly featured the two main characters: Dr. Hikaru Sudou and his nurse and assistant, Risa Higuchi. In a world with advanced technology, humanoids and AIs are now part of the population in a considerable amount. Dr. Sudou and Risa are responsible for addressing the “health” concerns humanoids and AIs have.
Eventually, Dr. Sudou had a patient with a tricky situation: a man with a humanoid wife got affected by the virus because of her back up data. Dr. Sudou engages in illegal medical procedures, so will he be able to help the man get his wife back? Especially when they have a daughter who is waiting for her mother to return?

Ai no Idenshi Manga Background
Ai no Idenshi manga is written and illustrated by Kyuuri Yamada. It serialized on Akita Shoten’s Weekly Shounen Champion from November 5, 2015 to August 24, 2017. There are 8 volumes published in total by 2017.
The sequel series, Ai no Idenshi: Red Queen, serialized on Bessatsu Shounen Champion from October 12, 2017 to June 12, 2019. It has 5 volumes in total available for paperback and e-book format.
The sequel is followed by another series, Ai no Idenshi: Blue Age, on the Bessatsu Shounen Champion which started in July 2020. There are 5 volumes published as of 2022.
