The anime adaptation of the hit light novel series I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World and Became Unrivaled in The Real World, Too finally has a specific release date, and it’s less than two months from now! A main trailer for the anime was released on Sunday, revealing its April 6 premiere, along with the anime’s opening theme song, “Gyakuten Geki” by Tsukuyomi.

The video runs for less than a minute and previews clips from the anime, including Yūya Tenjō’s entry into the other world and his interactions with the other characters, mostly with his love interests.

A livestream event for the anime conducted over the weekend also introduced a number of new cast members and the show’s full staff. Get to know them below!

Shin Itagaki will serve as the chief director and screenwriter of the series, with Shingo Tanabe as the director. Hiromi Kimura will handle both the character designs and animation. Akiyuki Tateyama is composing the music.

The anime will serve as the adaptation of the light novel series of the same name written by Miku and illustrated by Rein Kuwashima. The story was launched in the Kakuyomu website in March 2017 and was eventually published in print by Fujimi Shobo in 2018. A manga adaptation illustrated by Kazuomi Minatogawa followed a year later.

Yen Press is releasing both the light novels and manga in English. It described its story as such:

A door to another world stretches out before a boy who’s been brutally bullied all his life. This alternate reality grants him access to all sorts of things, like cheat skills and a portal that lets him travel between his old and new worlds! Can this class loser turn his life around back home…?

The upcoming anime will feature voice actor Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Yūya Tenjō. He will be joined by Akari Kitō as Kaori Hojō, Kaori Maeda as Lexia Von Arcelia, Sayaka Senbongi as Miu Midō, Ayana Taketatsu as Kaede Kazama, Shizuka Ishigami as Yukine Hyōdō, Mai Nakahara as Rin Kanzaki, Nobuhiko Okamoto as Ryō Igarashi, and Ayumu Murase as Shingo Kurata.
