Attack on Titan Final Season Part 3 Releases Official Trailer

By Ashley De MesaFebruary 25, 2023

Get ready, Attack on Titan fans! The return of Final Season Part 3 is just around the corner! As such, the official trailer got released to add to the hype!

Attack on Titan Final Season Part 3 is set to be premiered on March 3, 2023 (or technically March 4, 2023) on NHK TV at 24:25 AM (12:25 AM). It will also premiere on certain regions and territories outside Japan on various streaming platforms such as Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. Aniplus Asia will also be airing the special broadcast. To view more broadcast information, you can check it out on the official website.

In lieu of the special broadcast, it has been announced that Attack on Titan Final Season Part 3 will be an-hour long special instead of a series. It is also split into two, so the other half will premiere later in the year.

Watch the official trailer here:

The trailer starts with doom dawning on humanity as Eren continues his Rumbling plan. Survey Corps soldiers and Marleyan Warriors alike are filled with terror as numerous Colossal Titans are bringing destruction. What will they do to stop Eren’s Rumbling plan? Will they succeed?

This premise presented in the trailer evokes goosebumps with the help of Kohta Yamamoto’s intense music composition.

At the same time, it was also revealed that Japanese alt-metal band, SiM will also perform the opening theme of the special. It is now titled, “UNDER THE TREE”. They have also sung the opening theme previously in Final Season Part 2, which was then titled, “The Rumbling”.

Truly, MAPPA outdid themselves in this trailer with the tension and fear every character is facing in the 3rd installment of Final Season!

What will be Attack on Titan Final Season Part 3 about?

Eren continues his Rumbling plan with the alliance from Ymir Fritz, the original Founding Titan. Now holding supreme power, Eren commanded the numerous Colossal Titans to stomp on nations and eliminate everyone aside from his home – Paradis Island.

Half of Survey Corps supported this decision and thus called themselves ‘Yeagerists’. However, this was opposed by Eren’s own friends and Marleyan Warriors themselves. They struck an alliance, as they formed a plan on how to stop Eren.

But is Eren’s plan for the best? Why is he continuing the Rumbling? Will his friends be able to stop him?

Controversy of Attack on Titan Final Season Part 3

When it was announced that Attack on Titan Final Season Part 3 will have two more parts, there are a lot of fans who got frustrated. This is because they have been waiting for Attack on Titan, and have been on the edge of their seats to know what will happen. To learn that it is not over yet and they will still have to wait for another part can be a daunting task. This led to jokes online about Attack on Titan having Final Season Part 3, 3.5, 4, 4.5, and 5.

At the same time, MAPPA addressed the issue on why why Attack on Titan is experiencing a delay. This is because they have never expected the amount of work involved in animating the Final Season Part 3, so they were forced to cut it off into two parts. They also apologized to fans as well and assured them that everyone will get to see the end soon.

This situation can bring another topic to light: the harsh working environment of mangakas and manhwa artists alike which can lead to serious health conditions. Hajime Isayama, the creator and illustrator of Attack on Titan, is suffering from severe back pain. He also stated that writing a manga is a difficult task for him, which is why a Levi spin-off will just remain a possibility for now.
