Viewers of the TV anime Ayakashi Triangle will be entering February with no new episode from the series. The anime’s official website announced on Monday, Jan 23, that it will be delaying Episode 5 and beyond of the series due to COVID-19. Specific dates for the release of the episodes are yet to be announced.
The anime also relayed the news on Twitter. See their post below:
The fourth episode of the anime will still air on Monday, Jan 30, before it will go on indefinite hiatus. According to the post, the delay is due to the effects of COVID-19 on the production of the series. To keep the viewers preoccupied, all four episodes will be rebroadcast in place of the upcoming ones.
The delay in the series consequently postponed the supposed release of its first Blu-ray volume, which was originally scheduled to launch on March 29. The said Blu-ray Disc/DVD volume of the anime will now launch on September 27.
Before it turned into an anime, Ayakashi Triangle started as a manga written and illustrated by Kentaro Yabuki. It was initially serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine and eventually got transferred to Shōnen Jump+ website since April 2022.
Its anime adaptation premiered in January 9. Crunchyroll is streaming the series. It describes its story as such:
Matsuri Kazamaki is an exorcist ninja who exorcises evil spirits called ayakashi. His childhood friend, Suzu Kanade, tends to attract ayakashi, so he secretly protects her from them. But now Suzu has caught the eye of Shirogane, an ayakashi who looks like a cat but rules over all ayakashi as their king!
The main staff of the anime adaptation are as follows:
- Noriaki Akitaya – Director
- Kei Umabiki – Assistant director
- Shogo Yasukawa – Screenwriter
- Hideki Furukawa – Character designer
- Jin Aketagawa – Sound director
- Rei Ishizuka – Music composer
New schedules for the fifth episode and beyond will be posted on both the TV anime’s official Twitter account and website once decided.
