The Netflix exclusive remake of Bastard!! -Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy-, announces the new trailer for cour 2 of the series to premiere on Netflix on September 15 and will continue with its 11 episode part 2 from 14-24. The anime’s 13 episodes first part premiered on Netflix worldwide on September 15.
Bastard!! -Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy- is a manga series written and illustrated by Kazushi Hagiwara. It was serialized by Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump in 1998 and was continue irregularly in Ultra Jump since 2000. The series is Shueish’s all-time best-selling manga series, with over 30 million copies in circulation.

The series is heavily influenced by Hagiwara’s love for heavy metal music and Dungeons & Dragons using both elements in the series evidenced by characters and locations named after his favorite heavy metal bands and the series’ dark-fantasy dystopian theme.
AIC adapted the manga into a six-episode OVA, released from 1992 to 1993 and released in North America by Pioneer (also known as Geneon Entertainmment Inc.) in 1998.
The Netflix adaptation is by Liden Films and is directed by Takaharu Ozaki (Goblin Slayer, Aquarion, Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad) with the script written by Yosuke Kuroda (Hellsing Ultimate, Drifters), character designs by Sayaka Ono (Code Geass, Gintama: The Movie), and music composed by Yasuharu Takanashi (Gantz, Kengan Ashura). The opening theme “Bloody Power Fame” is sung by Coldrain and the ending theme, “Blessless” is performed by Tielle.
The series also boasts a star-studded cast with GRANRODEO’s Taniyama Kisho (Attack on Titan, Bleach) as Dark Schneider, Hiroki Yasumoto (Aldnoah Zero, Black Butler) as Gara, Tomori Kusunoki (Chainsaw Man, To Your Eternity) as Tia Noto Yoko and Yoko Hikasa (Attack on Titan, Berserk) as Arshes Nei.
