Bocchi the Rock! has been making waves lately! The anime has secured the 3rd spot of being the top anime of 2022 in MyAnimeList results. It is not surprising that it will gain more recognition with its story and characters.
In the website called Anime Bracket, users can nominate any anime characters under a specific category or bracket. These brackets help in narrowing down the nominees and figuring out the winner among the many candidates. The basis for this would be the user votes on the website.
The category of “Best Girl of Fall 2022” has opened, and users actually nominated a total of 180 female characters. It is quite amazing, since it is good to know that a lot of female characters are deserving of the title.
Among the 180 nominees, these characters stood out as they persevered through three rounds of elimination:
- Hitori Gotou (Bocchi the Rock!)

- Kobeni Higashiyama (Chainsaw Man)

- Himeno (Chainsaw Man)

- Nijika Ijichi (Bocchi the Rock!)

- Power (Chainsaw Man)

- Makima (Chainsaw Man)

- Ryou Yamada (Bocchi the Rock!)

- Ikuyo Kita (Bocchi the Rock!)

This seemed like tough competition, considering the quirks of each character! But there can only be one winner – and that is none other than Hitori Gotou, the protagonist of Bocchi the Rock!
Notably, both Bocchi the Rock! and Chainsaw Man dominated the semi-final list. This meant that both of them produced interesting and appealing female characters in Fall 2022! What are your thoughts on this? Do you think Hitori deserved the title?

What is Bocchi the Rock! about?
Socially anxious and a loner, Hitori “Bocchi” Gotou dreamt of making friends and performing in a live band. She loves playing the guitar, so she works to improve her craft. One day, she met the extroverted dummer, Nijika Ijichi, who is part of the Kessoku Band. Nijika invited Bocchi to become their guitarist because their member, Ikuyo Kita, left before their first show. They are joined by the band’s bassist, Ryou Yamada.
However, their first show did not go that well, but the girls are undeterred. Their passion for music strengthened their bond and determination to make the best performance. Ikuyo Kita rejoined the band, and they devoted their heart and soul in improving their talents.
Bocchi the Rock! is streaming on Crunchyroll, Aniplus Asia, and Bilibili.
