Not even the formidable shield of Maple can withstand the impact of production issues.

Fans of the anime adaptation of Yuumikan’s Bofuri: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, so I’ll Max Out My Defense light novel series will have to wait a bit longer for the seventh episode of Season 2. According to the official website, the production team announced a two-week delay on February 14, 2023, due to COVID-19 affecting the Chinese segment of the show. The new air date for the episode is now set for March 8.

In light of this delay, the production team has revealed changes in the broadcast schedule of Bofuri Season 2. On February 22, the first episode will re-air, followed by the second episode on March 1. Episodes 8-10 will then air weekly after the seventh episode airs on March 8. However, the broadcast schedule for episodes 11 and 12 has yet to be announced by the staff.

The anime premiered on January 11, and Crunchyroll is streaming the anime with subtitles and an English dub.

The anime’s second season will see the return of several key staff members from the first season. Shin Oonuma, known for directing Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya and WATAMOTE, is back in the director’s chair at SILVER LINK. Fumihiko Shimo, who was in charge of series composition for the first season, is also returning for the second season.

Kazuya Hirata, who designed the characters and served as chief animation director for the first season, will be returning to those roles in the second season, along with Hiroyuki Honda as chief animation director. Taro Masuda is also coming back to compose the music.

The vocal group Junjō no Afilia (also known as Afilia Saga) will perform the opening theme for the second season, titled “Kono Tate ni Kakuremasu” (I Will Hide Behind this Shield), while the ending theme, titled “Step for Joy,” will be performed by singer FRAM.

The first season of the anime adaptation of Yuumikan’s light novel series premiered in Japan in January 2020. Funimation streamed the first season as it aired in Japan, and also offered an English dub.
