The protagonist of the book is Kaede Honjo, who accepts Risa Shiramine’s invitation to join her in playing a virtual reality MMO game. Kaede doesn’t mind playing games, but what she genuinely detests is suffering. In order to reduce suffering, she creates a character named Maple and decides to invest all of her points in VIT. She consequently walks slowly, is incapable of using magic, and even a rabbit can defeat her. But as it turns out, she receives a skill called “Absolute Defense” and a “Counter Skill” that counters special moves as a result of pouring points into VIT. Now that she has the power to negate all injury, she embarks on adventures.
The first season at SILVER LINK was directed by Shin Oonuma (Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya, WATAMOTE) and Mirai Minato (Masamune-Revenge, kun’s Sunohara-S no Kanrinin-san), with series composition handled by Fumihiko Shimo (Anima Yell!, New Game!). The characters were conceived and animated by Kazuya Hirata (Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya, Sunohara-S no Kanrinin-san).
Yuumikan began serializing the narrative on the Shsetsuka ni Nar (Let’s Become Novelists) website in 2016, and the site is still producing chapters. In September 2017, Kadokawa began publishing the narrative in print novel form with art by Koin.
