By Janiene LerioNovember 30, 2022

‘Tis the season to be jolly indeed. After almost 4 years since the last season, Bungo Stray Dogs has finally revealed the release date for its fourth season along with a new promotional video and the introduction of a new character.

On Wednesday, Kadokawa revealed the second promotional video, a new cast member, and the January 4 premiere date for the fourth anime season based on Kafka Asagiri and Sango Harukawa’s Bungo Stray Dogs manga.

The video also includes a sneak peek at the anime’s opening music, “True Story” by SCREEN mode. The closing song “Shirushi/°C” will be performed by Luck Life.

The new season will debut on January 4 at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT. It will air at 9:00 a.m. EST on the TOKYO MX channel, as well as on WOWOW, Sun TV, TV Aichi, KBS Kyoto, and BS11. The animation will be available in Japan at the anime Store on January 4 at the same time as Tokyo MX, and afterward on other services in Japan. Crunchyroll will broadcast the animation live as it airs in Japan.

Shya Chiba, a new cast member, will play Sigma, a Decay of the Angel member and the general manager of the Sky Casino.

The first television anime adaptation aired from April to June 2016, and Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired in Japan. The anime’s second 12-episode series aired from October to December 2016, and Crunchyroll once again streamed the series as it aired. Funimation and Crunchyroll published the series on home video with an English dub. The third season of the anime debuted in April 2019, and it was streamed on Crunchyroll and Funimation.

Bungo Stray Dogs: Dead Apple, the series’ anime film, was released in Japan in March 2018. Crunchyroll began streaming the film in September 2018, while Funimation began streaming the film in June 2019.

The manga and novel series are published in English by Yen Press.
