Call of the Night anime fans just got another reason to get pumped up! The official website of the series just released a new “climax” promotional video in preparation for the anime’s season finale. The trailer provides a recap of what had happened in the series so far and introduces a new character to keep an eye on.
Anko Uguisu, a private detective specializing in vampire-related cases, is set to be joining the cast members. Her character will be voiced by Miyuki Sawashiro (Kurapika from Hunter x Hunter).
The introduction of Anko at the latter part of the video signals a big shift in the overall feel of the story. Fans are expecting that her appearance will bring about new challenges to the main leads.

Call of the Night anime is based on a manga written and illustrated by Kotoyama. Its story is described as follows:
Nanakusa is a vampire. That’s okay with human Ko. He wants to be one too. But transformation doesn’t come that easily…

When Nazuna invites Ko to spend the night at her place in an abandoned building, he’s stoked! But then he awakens to kisses on his neck with a little too much bite to them… Is it just the delicious taste of his blood that makes her meet him night after night for late-night adventures, conversation and…naps? Or something else? Then, when a cute girl from Yamori’s past shows up and competes for his attention, his budding relationship with the undead is put to the test!

The anime adaptation of the series debuted on July 7. It is produced by Japanese animation Studio Liden Films. Tomoyuki Itamura is the Director, while Tetsuya Miyanishi is the Chief Director. Michiko Yokote, known for writing the scripts for Bleach and Cowboy Bebop, is the Screenwriter. The character designs are by Haruka Sagawa.
