The isekai novel and manga, Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill by Ren Eguchi, will be adapted into an anime! It is slated to premiere in January 2023 in Tokyo TV and other channels that will be revealed soon. It will be produced by MAPPA Studio, known for producing Attack on Titan, Jujutsu Kaisen, Chainsaw Man, and many more.
The official Twitter account and website for the anime have also recently opened, to serve as the platforms for updates.
Visuals have also been shared – including the main character visuals and their respective voice actors. Staff members are also revealed, with Kiyoshi Matsuda as the director. Michiko Yotoke will be overseeing the series scripts, while Kana Utatade and Kuricorder Quartet will be composing the music.
Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill Synopsis
Mukouda Tsuyoshi is not someone special or important in modern Japan. He is then summoned to a magical world of sorcery by a kingdom, which is actually a mistake. His stats does not make him a hero, and he became the laughingstock. Mukouda himself did not trust the kingdom, which is why he left to venture on his own in the world.
Mukouda relies on his only skill: the “Online Supermarket”, in which he is able to buy modern food in the fantasy world he is living in. He decided to lead a comfortable life in this world by using this unique skill of his. What he did not expect that this skill will have absurd effects – becoming appealing in this fantasy world. Customers then wanted to have some modern food as well.

The key visual depicts the fantasy setting: the kingdom in medieval times. Mukouda stands out with his modern style of clothing. He also cooks a lot of food that are also quite unique in the setting since it is inspired from modern Japanese cuisine.
A majestic beast creature, Fel, took a liking to his cooking, as it gobbled up the entire plate. A slime-like creature, Sui, also loved Mukuoda’s cooking, as it held up a plate full of food. Both Fel and Sui are the companions of Mukouda in this world.

Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill Light Novels Background
Ren Eguchi authored this isekai story on Shousetsuka ni Narou! (Let’s Become Novelists!) website in 2016. It was acquired by Overlap to publish it as a light novel in 2016, releasing the 1st volume. As of June 2022, there are 12 volumes of the light novel that are available. Masa is credited for doing the illustrations in the books.
J-Novel Club started publishing the light novels into English in 2019. As of May 2022, there are 11 volumes released, with the 12th volume coming soon in November 16, 2022.
Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill Manga Background
Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill started its manga serialization on Overlap’s web manga magazine, Comic Gardo, in 2017. Overlap made the manga’s 1st volume available both in paperback and digital version in December 2017. As of November 2021, there have been 8 volumes released. K Akagishi illustrated the manga.
J-Novel also licensed the manga into an English publication, releasing the 1st volume in 2020. As of June 2022, there are 8 volumes available.
