Mappa revealed on their official youtube channel the first promotional for tv anime adaptation of Another World with My Absurd Skill (Tondemo Skill de Isekai Horou Meshi) light novel and manga series. The video also revealed that singer/actor Maaya Uchida (Domestic Kanojo, Chainsaw Man)will voice the wind goddess Ninrir. The series is also Mappa’s first isekai anime.
The anime stars Yuma Uchida (Blue Lock, Fruits Basket) as Tsuyoshi Mukouda, Satoshi Hino (Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Gintama) as Fel, and Hina Kino (Wataten: an Angel Flew Down to Me, Heaven’s Design Team) as Sui. MAPPA will be producing the tv animation with Kiyoshi Matsuda as director, Michiko Yokote as the scriptwriter, character designs by Nao Ootsu, music composition by Masato Kouda, Kana Utatane, and Kuricorder Quartet.
The series is set to premiere in January 2023 on TV Tokyo and other networks. Muse communication licensed the series in South and Southeast Asia.

Campfire Cooking in Another world with My Absurd Skill started as novel series written by Ren Eguchi. It was first published on the self-publishing website Shousetsuka ni Narou! (Let’s Become Novelists!) in January 2016. It was later acquired by Overlap. It then began publishing the series with illustrations by Masa on its Overlap Novels imprint. Twelve volumes of the light novel have already been released as of June 2022. J-Novel Club announced that they licensed the light novel for English publication in March 2019.
A manga adaptation of the series began serialization on the Comic Gardo manga website on March 27, 2017, illustrated by Akigishi K. The series has compiled eight tankobon volumes as of November 2021.
A spin-off manga centering around the adventures of Mukouda’s baby slime pet Sui titled Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill: Sui’s Great Adventure (Tondemo Skill de Isekai Horou Meshi: Sui no Daibouken), illustrated by Momo Futaba began serialization in Comic Gardo website on August 24, 2018. The series’ individual chapters have been collected into six tankobon volumes as of November 2021. J-Novel Club announced that they also licensed the spin-off manga in English.



Campfire Cooking in Another world with My Absurd Skill is about an ordinary salary man in Japan named Tsuyoshi Mukouda who has been summoned to another world by mistake with three young heroes. As he revealed that he doesn’t have any special characteristics to become a hero, he asked for some gold to spare and left the castle to find adventure, meeting the great Fenrir and the baby slime Sui. He spends his time adventuring and cooking campfire food in the wild.
