The official website for the TV anime Masamune-kun’s Revenge has announced that ChouCho will perform the ending theme song called “twilight little star” for the show’s second season. ChouCho previously sang the ending song for the first season called “Elemental World.” ChouCho personally wrote the lyrics and composed the music for the new song, with arrangement by Jun Murayama.

The premiere of the anime is set for July 3. Originally planned for April, the premiere was delayed due to the impact of COVID-19.
The second season introduces new cast members, including Miku Itō as Muriel Besson and Yasuyuki Kase as Frank Besson. The opening theme song, “Please, please!”, will be performed by Ayaka Ohashi.
Crunchyroll has announced that they will stream the anime worldwide, including the India subcontinent, but excluding the rest of Asia. The original TV anime adaptation first aired in January 2017, with Crunchyroll streaming the series in Japan, and Funimation providing an English dub.
The North American licensing rights for the manga were acquired by Seven Seas Entertainment, who provides the following description of the story:
As an overweight child, Makabe Masamune was mercilessly teased and bullied by one particular girl, Adagaki Aki. Determined to one day exact his revenge upon her, Makabe begins a rigorous regimen of self-improvement and personal transformation.
Years later, Masamune re-emerges as a new man. Handsome, popular, with perfect grades and good at sports, Masamune-kun transfers to Aki’s school, and is unrecognizable to her. Now, Masamune-kun is ready to confront the girl who bullied him so many years ago and humiliate her at last. But will revenge be as sweet as he thought?
The manga series started in Ichijinsha’s Monthly Comic Rex magazine in 2012 and finished in June 2018. Additionally, there was an original anime disc (OAD) included with the manga’s 10th volume that continued the story in an “after story” format. This volume was released in July 2018.
In August 2020, a special chapter was published, featuring Masamune and Aki in a story that takes place after the original manga’s final chapter.
As a spinoff to the main manga, Takeoka and Tiv created Masamune-kun’s Revenge After School. It ran in Monthly Comic Rex from September 2018 to January 2019. The stories from this spinoff were compiled into one volume known as “Volume 11” of the manga, which Ichijinsha published in April 2019. Seven Seas Entertainment later released the volume in June 2020.
