Crunchyroll announced that there will be a world premiere of Trigun Stampede‘s episode 1 on November 18, 2022 at the big anime festival, Anime NYC! This will be held at Javits Convention Center in New York City, where the festival will take place on November 18-20, 2022.

It will occur on the special panel dedicated to Trigun Stampede. There are going to be special guests coming from Studio Orange, which is the anime’s production studio. They are Chief Producer Waki Kiyotaka and Producer Yoshihiro Watanabe, in which they will also be available for fan-signings on both November 18 and 19.

The upcoming anime series itself, Trigun Stampede, will premiere in January 2023 on TV Tokyo and other broadcasting channels. It is the reboot of the 1998 classic anime, Trigun.

Crunchyroll will also stream the series in limited territories outside Japan, and this does not include Asia as a whole. Yet it will be available on the Philippines, Singapore, India, Pakistan, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan. The trailer showcased the modern animated version of the Trigun anime, now renamed as Trigun Stampede.

The main protagonist, Vash, still remained the same: a buffoonish attitude and going on a journey across the wasteland. The two life insurance agents chasing after him are still there, except that Milly Thompson seemingly got replaced by a guy named Roberto De Niro. On the other hand, Meryl Stryfe stayed.

Nicholas D. Wolfwood makes an appearance with a cross behind him, and has exhibited his skill in holding a gun.

The key visual included the 4 main characters (from bottom to top): Vash, Nicholas, Meryl, and Roberto. From this, it is clear that Vash is being followed by the other three. They go on numerous misadventures and detours across the wasteland.

Trigun Synopsis

Vash the Stampede has a 60 double million dollars bounty on his head. This is because he causes troubles wherever he goes. He kills those who oppose him, and destroys cities just for his own pleasure. People call him “The Humanoid Typhoon”, and many would not want to encounter him. What they did not know is that Vash is actually a big softie who claimed to have never killed anyone, and wanted to avoid violence at all costs.

Vash embarks on a journey to planet Gunsmoke and he is being chased by two life insurance agents, Meryl Stryfe and Milly Thompson. These two have a goal of minimizing Vash’s actions on the public. The situation eventually turned into a life-and-death situation when a group of assassins set out to harm them. Vash’s past will then be explored, and principles will be tested.
