Yes, Senku Ishigami will travel to space or should I say he had already gone to space. Senku’s dream to someday reach the stars is no longer an unreachable dream. The young scientist has always expressed his desire to someday go to space like his father. And this finally turned into reality during the last few arcs of the Dr. Stone series. He even let some of his friends tag along with him!

Senku Ishigami is not just a simple scientist who is satisfied with contributing even just a little bit to the field of science. If we were to describe him as a scientist, Senku is a very ambitious one. He had always been confident with his plans even as a kid. Many children may have also shared the same dreams as his; but, the chances of reaching it is close to impossible. Hence, most give up on it and just settle for something better here on Earth.

However, Senku knew that he is no ordinary kid and can actually turn all of his dreams into reality through the power of science. As a kid, our teachers tend to ask us how we see ourselves in the future and Senku was no exception to that. He expressed in front of his whole class that he will someday travel to space because it is what he wants and he will work hard in getting it.

When Did Senku Begin to Dream Of Going to Space?

In season one, we saw Senku getting curious about the moon. He was amusingly trying to outrun it like most of us when we were still kids. In episode 16 of season one, he told his teacher and classmates that he will become an astronaut and will do that immediately.

The biggest thing that Senku might have gotten from his father is his love for space. They both bonded about talking about space and both wanted to go there someday. Byakuya Ishigami managed to do that and his son will also follow in his footsteps a thousand years later.

It is safe to say that his love and interest in space deepen his love for science. His fascination with science made him build a rocket at such a young age. With every failure, Senku never gave up and kept on building with his friends Taiju and Yuzuriha. In episode three of season one, Senku worked on numerous prototype rockets during their free time. Instead of playing video games or watching television, he knew what he wanted and his friends fully supported him when it comes to his inventions.

Taiju Oki became his first-ever friend who joined him in making all his early scientific inventions. However, when they needed someone to make the dolls for their first travel to space, Yuzuriha then joined their group. Episode three featured Senku, Taiju, and Yuzuriha going to the hill and launching Senku 3. Although this rocket blew up just like the rest, it was still able to reach a really high altitude. Because of this, they did not fail this time for their doll versions were able to reach the right altitude for the rocket to explode in space and successfully leave the dolls there.

This was a huge stepping stone for Senku because he proved at such a young age that he can do science and is very brilliant at that. Though the passengers of the Senku 3 rocket were just their doll version. Still, Senku was able to stand by what he told his teacher and that is to go to space immediately. I mean, he didn’t tell me that he will personally go there, right? Therefore, the Senku doll was enough for the meantime while he sort out all the things he need to actually travel to space someday with his friends.

When Did Senku Travel to Space?

Senku finally turned his dream to go to space into reality during the Moon Mission Arc of the series. The Moon Mission Arc is the fourteenth arc of the Dr. Stone original manga.
