Eiichiro Oda will be remembered as one of the greatest manga creators of all time. The artist has delighted fans with One Piece for decades, but Oda has done more than just shepherd the Straw Hat team. Oda has published a lot of short tales throughout the years, with Monsters being one of his most well-known. Monsters appears to be receiving an anime adaptation, and we’ve discovered more about the project.
As it turns out, Eiichiro Oda’s Monsters will get its own anime series in 2024. There is no precise release date beyond 2024, but we do know Monsters is in good hands. The Oda title has been optioned by E&H Productions, and Sunghoo Park has been requested to direct.
Of course, shonen aficionados should recognize Park’s name by now. Jujutsu Kaisen helped the skilled South Korean animator become a household name. Park oversaw the first season of the successful anime, and many fans applauded the animator’s work. Park went on to direct Jujutsu Kaisen 0, and the animator-director is now working on additional shonen classics.
Monsters, on the other hand, promises to delve into a wide range of mythological and otherworldly creations. For those who are interested, the one-shot manga is linked to One Piece. Monsters was released in 1994, and it was Oda’s first step into the One Piece Universe that he would later develop. Before One Piece debuted in 1997, Monsters was followed by two separate editions of Romance Dawn. If you want to understand more about the One Piece Universe, Monsters is a good place to start.
For those of you who have yet to watch One Piece, the anime has never been more popular. The program just concluded its Wano Country arc, and Toei Animation is gearing up to begin One Piece’s Egghead Island storyline. In terms of the manga, One Piece is nearing the end of its last act, but there is still a lot of material for Oda to sort through. The Shonen Jump app updates weekly with new chapters, and the One Piece anime can be seen on Hulu and Crunchyroll.
