Netflix unveiled the first Official Trailer of the Exception horror anime on Monday, 12th of September, 2022. The trailer revealed the cast, crew, composer, and the October 13 premiere date of the anticipated horror anime.
Ryuichi Sakamoto will be composing the score for the anime which will be released on Netflix this October.
The film’s cast includes some renowned voice actors like:
- Chikahiro Kobayashi (the voice of Ranga from that time I got Reincarnated as a Slime) as Lewis
- Takahiro Sakurai (the voice of Griffith from Berserk) as Mac
- Yuko Kaida (the voice of Tsukuyo from Gintama) as Nina
- Takanori Hoshino (the voice of Jack Atlas from Yu-Gi-Oh) as Nina
- Atsumi Tanezaki (the voice of Chise Hatori from Ancient Magus’ Bride) as Patty

In the far future, humanity has been driven from Earth and forced to move its population to another galaxy. Members of a scouting team are sent to search for a planet suitable for terraforming. The crew is created through a biological 3D printer, but a system malfunction causes one of the crew members, Lewis, to emerge in a deformed state. As Lewis turns on his fellow crew members Nina, Mack, Patty, and Oscar, a countdown to the end of the mission begins in the frightening darkness of the ship

Ryuichi Sakamoto, a Prolific film score composer, and Musician is composing the score for the anime. The series is based on a new story by famous novelist and film director Hirotaka Adachi, and it will feature character designs by Final Fantasy’s designer, Yoshitaka Amano. Adachi will be writing the script of the series, Yuzu Sato is directing, and Bakken Record and 5 Inc will be responsible for the production of the anime.
Netflix has previously announced in February 2020 that the anime series will be in partnership with several creators like Hirotaka Adachi to expand its anime line-up.
