Right, it’s been one heck of a week for the Jujutsu Kaisen fandom, because after 1000 days in the box, Gojo Satoru has finally been officially unsealed (or unboxed). Of course, fans are thrilled, but everyone is on their feet because the return of Gojo Satoru is rather…convenient, and well, not that we hate it, but the series’ author, Gege Akutami, was very open about his indifference towards Gojo, and some are saying this “unboxing” might be short-lived.
It took years, but Jujutsu Kaisen has finally accomplished what many admirers thought was impossible. Following his very flashy departure in Chapter 91, the Jujutsu Kaisen manga has just reintroduced Gojo to the spotlight. The sorcerer has successfully fled the Prison Realm this week, and the founder of Jujutsu Kaisen has now commented on the entire affair.
If you are not completely up to date on the situation, you are one of the few people who have dodged the consequences of social media. This week, a new chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen was released, and it was there that our heroes discovered a way to free Gojo from his seal. Toge, Yugi, and even an angel worked together to release the guy. In the end, Gojo was able to gain his freedom by using a backdoor in the Prison Realm, and designer Gege Akutami had this to say about the huge change:
“Itadori’s ear returning was my mistake, but Gojo coming backisn’t a mistake”
A pretty witty line coming from the series’ creator don’t you think?
Gojo has been absent from the manga for more than three years. During the Shibuya Incident arc, Jujutsu Kaisen fans witnessed Gojo enter the Prison Realm over 100 chapters ago. Geto, or rather Kenjaku, was successful in luring Gojo into the seal’s trap, but the hero is prepared to fight back.

And, of course, Gojo has set a date for his big confrontation. Geto and Gojo have announced that they will square off on Christmas Eve, giving our hero some time to reacclimate to the world before moving in for the kill. Our sorcerers will undoubtedly be relieved to see Gojo, especially after what has transpired.
Now that Sukuna has taken over Megumi’s body, the teacher must assist Yuji in his training. And now that Yuta has returned to town, we can anticipate Gojo to put his students to the test in the following weeks. But first, we must pass through a little pause. We won’t have a new chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen for a few weeks due to Japan’s Golden Week vacation, so readers may ponder Gojo’s homecoming for a bit longer.
Has everyone picked up the Jujutsu Kaisen manga yet? Are you excited about what might happen next? Stay tuned for more updates!
