If you haven’t been keeping up with the Fall 2022 Anime releases, you probably hadn’t heard of Netflix’s most recent romantic comedy anime, Romantic Killer. Romantic Killer is about the life of Hoshino Anzu and her quest to find (or fight) romance. One of the main characters of the series is the show’s cute little Wizard, Riri. Because of Riri’s supernatural nature, the wizard’s gender is actually unknown.
Riri assumes the appearance (in wizard form) of a little, youthful yellow creature. Riri has a spherical body, little round ears, and slim twig-like arms and legs. Riri has small round black eyes, a canine-like snout, and a narrow flat mouth. Riri is dressed in a brilliant purple wizard’s cap with light-colored stars, a wizard cloak of the same color with a pink star-decorated undercoat, and a flimsy wand shaped like a flower with a star at the tip.

However, Riri also takes the form of a human in the characters of Riri (a girl), and Rio (a boy). Basically, this magical wizard is a gender bender! Not quite commonly seen in anime, but it is definitely one of the things someone who plays an otome game would definitely love! It’s basically the closest thing the show has to fanservice. But Riri being able to change genders is actually a key plotline in the anime, and it is definitely a sight to behold!
Riri is incredibly lively and talkative regardless of whether they are in human or wizard-like creature shape. Riri is particularly interested in anything romantic, as evidenced in Episode 8 when Riri asks Anzu to go on a date so they may learn more about each other while also dissecting the movie they choose to watch.
Riri is revealed to be quite cute, but also somewhat humiliating at times. Riri’s sole purpose is to assist non-heroine types in finding love!
To know more about Riri and their cute personality, head on to Netflix to watch Romantic Killer now!
