The YouTube channel for Love Live! released a new video promoting the upcoming anime series based on the Genjitsu no Yohane -Sunshine in the Mirror- magazine illustrations of Love Live! Sunshine!!. The video revealed that the anime will premiere on July 2.

The story revolves around Yoshiko Tsushima, a school idol known for her adolescent delusions of grandeur, who is portrayed as a fortune-telling girl. The setting is Numazu, a beautiful harbor town surrounded by the sea and mountains. Yoshiko has always felt like an outsider and believes her true destiny lies elsewhere. The story follows her journey in a whimsical world where rules don’t apply.

The anime is directed by Asami Nakatani and produced by Sunrise. Toshiya Ono is supervising the series scripts, while Yumiko Yamamoto is in charge of character design. Tatsuya Katō is returning to compose the music for Love Live! Sunshine!!. The original creator is credited as Hajime Yatate, using the collective penname of Sunrise, and Sakurako Kimino is credited with the original concept.
The Genjitsu no Yohane -Sunshine in the Mirror- illustration series has been drawn by Taira Akitsu since October 2020 and is featured in the Love Live! Days Love Live! Sōgō Magazine.
