It appears like Given is preparing to make a major comeback! The BL series stated last March 22 that a new animation project for Natsuki Kizu’s series is in the works. Behind the scenes, a new film is being developed, so Given lovers can expect more music and drama in the future.
As you can see in the video below, a little teaser was published to introduce the Forthcoming film, and it features some of our favorites. The entire crew will rejoin for Given, from Mafuya to Akihiko and beyond, and there is no knowing what adventure the lads will engage in this time around. The anime’s previous installment concluded with a love declaration and a music showcase, so anything is possible. If you read the manga, you’d know that there is much left to animate, so we’re curious to see which one they will adapt!

After all, this is the second film in the Given series. The anime’s first feature was released in 2020, and it largely followed Akihiko and Haruki on their love journey. Despite jealousy and self-doubt, the two were together by the conclusion of Given’s first film, and no one loved them more than Mafuyu. After all, the singer spent the first season of Given growing in love with Ritsuka while dealing with the death of his ex-boyfriend. Given’s second film definitely has a lot to live up to.
If you haven’t seen Given yet, it’s now streaming on Crunchyroll. Kizu is almost ready to end up the BL storyline in the manga. Given debuted in Cheri+ in 2013, therefore it’s about time the manga come to a conclusion. Given’s official summary is below for anyone interested in learning more:
“Somehow, the guitar that he used to love to play and the basketball games that he found so fun just lost their appeal… That was until Ritsuka Uenoyama randomly met Mafuyu Sato. Ritsuka had started losing his passion for music in his everyday life, but then he hears Mafuyu sing for the first time. The song resonates with his heart and the distance between them starts to change.”
