Taiwanese Given fans, we need you to sit down and scout your nearest theaters because Given: Hiiragi Mix will come to you on April 3rd!
Cai Chang Asia, a Taiwanese film distributor, said on Tuesday that Eiga Given: Hiiragi Mix, the first film of the two-part sequel anime film production based on Natsuki Kizu’s Given manga, will be released in Taiwan on April 3.
The film premiered in Japan on January 27.
In July 2019, Fuji TV’s Noitamina programming block debuted a television anime adaptation of the manga. The “first anime based on a boys-love manga” premiered on Noitamina. Crunchyroll broadcast the series as it aired and began streaming an English version in August 2022. Crunchyroll summarizes the story:
Somehow, the guitar that he used to love to play and the basketball games that he found so fun just lost their appeal…
That was until Ritsuka Uenoyama randomly met Mafuyu Sato. Ritsuka had started losing his passion for music in his everyday life, but then he hears Mafuyu sing for the first time. The song resonates with his heart and the distance between them starts to change.
An anime film based on the manga premiered in Japan in May 2020.
In contrast, an original animation disc (or original video anime) named Given: Uragawa no Sonzai (Given -), which centered on Mafuyu and Ritsuka following the events of the Given film, was released in December 2021 alongside the special edition of the manga’s seventh volume.
Kizu first published the comic in Shinshokan’s Cheri+ magazine in 2014. The manga finished in March 2023, with Shinshokan publishing the ninth and final compiled book volume in September 2023.
A live-action version of the manga launched on Fuji TV’s FOD (Fuji TV On Demand) streaming service in July 2021.
Lucky you! This Given film has been a long-awaited one even for the OG fans, and Taiwanese fans are lucky to have it in their local cinemas! Better grab your popcorn and start planning your outfits!
