Fans of action-adventure TV anime Golden Kamuy now have a definite date to look forward to. A new trailer for the fourth season of the series was released Friday, announcing the anime is set to premier on October 3.
The video lasts only 1 minute and 53 seconds. Still, it did showcase what fans can expect for the upcoming season.
The opening and ending songs for the series were also announced. Hip-Hop/Funk band ALI will sing the opening, titled “Never Say Goodbye” featuring Mummy-D. Meanwhile, rock band THE SPELLBOUND is set to sing the ending song called “Subete ga Soko ni Arimasu yo ni.”
Golden Kamuy is based on a manga of the same name written by Satoru Noda. It was first serialized in Weekly Young Jump magazine. Later, it was adapted into a TV anime by Geno Studio. The first three seasons were released in 2018, 2019, and 2020 respectively.
The fourth season is to be animated this time by Brains Base. Shizutaka Sugahara will serve as the Chief Director, while Noboru Takagi is the Scriptwriter. Character design is by Takumi Yamakawa.
The story of Golden Kamuy was described as follows:
In the early twentieth century, Russo-Japanese War veteran Saichi “Immortal” Sugimoto scratches out a meager existence during the postwar gold rush in the wilderness of Hokkaido. When he stumbles across a map to a fortune in hidden Ainu gold, he sets off on a treacherous quest to find it. But Sugimoto is not the only interested party, and everyone who knows about the gold will kill to possess it! Faced with the harsh conditions of the northern wilderness, ruthless criminals and rogue Japanese soldiers, Sugimoto will need all his skills and luck—and the help of an Ainu girl named Asirpa—to survive.
