After long years of waiting, fans can finally rejoice as volume 37 of Yoshihiro Togashi’s Hunter X Hunter manga is about to come out. This is the first new volume to release in about four years and will debut in Japan on November 4.
The news broke earlier today via the Weekly Shonen Jump official Twitter account.

The manga currently has 10 chapters that are yet to be compiled into a volume.
Togashi stated that he had completed the rough drafts for 10 chapters, which is the average number for a volume, in the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in May. He had joked at the time that he had completed seven (originally six) manuscripts out of those ten chapters.
Since then, he has kept the account updated with hints about how the chapters are coming along. He withheld the release date for the chapters.
The manga began its 4-year hiatus in November of 2018. However, prior to these, Togashi has already made many other hiatuses ever since September of 2017. He announced during that time that he had originally planned to finish the Hunter x Hunter manga by the end of that year, however, that plan was not pursued.

In 1998, Togashi published the first issue of the manga in Weekly Shonen Jump from Shueisha. Two television anime series, two anime movies, and many original anime video games were all influenced by the manga. The 36th volume of the manga’s collected books was released by Shueisha in October 2018. In August 2019, Viz Media published the 36th volume in North America.
The manga’s second television anime adaptation premiered in Japan in 2011 and ran for 148 episodes. The final episode premiered in 2014.
The series was broadcast live on Crunchyroll as it aired in Japan. The original manga by Togashi was completely retold in the series. The plot follows Gon Freecs as he trains to become a Hunter in an effort to track down his father and learn why he left him when he was a baby in order to become a Hunter.
