Zeus is a hundred percent without a doubt the strongest God on Record of Ragnarok. What seems to be a wrinkly old man is actually known as the God Father of Cosmos. He is the God who is feared by many including his fellow Gods despite how he may look. So how did the mighty Zeus rise to the top and got to rule the Heavens?
Be it in our lessons on Greek Mythology or in the anime series Record of Ragnarok, Zeus is hailed as the Supreme Ruler of Gods. At the beginning of the series, it seemed impossible to believe that he was the formidable superior Greek God, Zeus. For he doesn’t have a body like his son, Ares, or his older brother, Poseidon, in the series.

In fact, he appears in Record of Ragnarok season one first episode as a frail wrinkly old man whose body was even trembling due to his elderly form. The Chairman of the Gods‘ Council, Zeus, held a meeting to decide the future of humans. Most Gods inside the meeting hall decided to not give the humans another chance. Shiva even said that humans never learn from their mistakes. Therefore, it was already decided to end the lives of all humankind, but Brunhilde and Göll went in and interrupt the Gods.
The older valkyrie, Brunhilde, proposed an unusual plan to save the human race. She suggested an option in front of all the Gods and the Chairman. Brunhilde suggests that the faith of humanity will be decided through a Ragnarok. This proposal of Brunhilde amused and excites Zeus. Hence, he approved this deadly match between the Gods and humans.
The Ragnarok plays a significant role in proving that Zeus is indeed the strongest among all Gods. Thanks to Brunhilde, we were able to witness him and get to know him more.
How Did Zeus Become the Strongest God?
As the Chairman of the Gods‘, it is natural to see Zeus as someone who is calm and holds great authority. Even with his looks, you can sense the power that he holds. However, the Ragnarok showed his true colors. Zeus is someone who is very obsessed with wars. The thought of a battle or war excites him and raises his energy.
When Hermes introduced him for round two, he was also dancing along with Hermes’ musical performance. Proving that he can also be quirky and playful, which is actually something that fans adore most about the old man. However even with his positive personality, he wants nothing to gain from the Ragnarok, but for his challengers to win.
However, before becoming the Final Boss as Göll described him to be, he had to defeat another powerful being first. During the battle between Zeus and Adam, a brief background story on the powerful God was told by Brunhilde.

The young Zeus challenged his father, Cronus, into a battle. He and his father fought in the final round in a tournament called Titanomachy. Cronus is the father of the three most powerful Greek Gods, Poseidon, Hades, and Zeus. The former strongest being is actually a colossal muscular man. He was known as the Ruler of Titans. Thus, his strengths may not have a detailed explanation in the series, but there is no doubt about his immeasurable physical power.
However, regardless of all the power abilities of Cronus, he still wasn’t able to evade death. The Guardian of Time and Space faced death at the hands of his youngest son, Zeus. His victory against his father gave him his fathers’ former title. From then on, Zeus was known as the Strongest God in the Universe.
What is Zeus’ Strongest Technique?
Many waited and longed to see the strongest God on the battlefield between Gods’ and humans. However, fans didn’t wait that long as he was the challenger for the second round. Hoping to maintain the win of Thor, he decided to face the next champion of the humans instead of Shiva. From a frail old man, Zeus turned into a huge muscular God during his turn on the battlefield.

Zeus battled the Father of All Mankind, Adam. With Adam being created in the own image of God, Zeus was overwhelmed with the strength that he possessed. The representative of humans managed to caught off guard the mighty Zeus on multiple occasions during their battle.
During his battle with Adam, we saw some of Zeus’ best techniques on the battlefield:

- Meteor Jab: This technique of his unleashed rapid punches, much like Luffy’s Gatling Gun in One Piece. The only difference is that Zeus’ punches are intensely burning due to their speed. This can highly overwhelm and injure an opponent who lacks the speed to evade them.
- Divine Axe: This technique uses a swift but powerful leg sweep which can heavily injure his opponents by dividing their bodies. This can be used when Zeus is in his muscular form or in his supreme technique called, Adamas.
- Zeus’ Footwork: This technique can also help in increasing the Greek Gods’ speed. He builds momentum in his form then produces afterimages in order to confuse his opponent, and then delivers his attack.
- The Fist That Surpassed Time: This is quite long for an attack name if you ask me. However, the power and story it holds are immense. Zeus has shared in the series his hatred towards his father. In fact, this attack of his is somewhat inspired by the anger he has for Cronus. This technique is faster than light speed and gathered all the strength of Zeus with so much force. It is also believed that when he uses this technique, the mere mention of his father’s name increases its power. Cronus was actually the original user of this technique but after his defeat. His son claimed it as his own.

However, these attacks as strong as they seemed still weren’t enough to beat the ultimate survivalist. Adam possessing the Divine Reflection allowed him to copy and reflect Zeus’ attack. Realizing that he cannot defeat Adam and his Divine Reflection by only using his common muscular techniques. He acknowledge his opponent’s strength and brought out his trump card. Because of Adam’s determination and endurance during their fight, Zeus was forced to a technique he rarely uses, the Adamas.
This technique of the powerful God painfully compressed all his muscles to their limits. It was a technique named after the forgotten 13th God of Olympian, Adamas, who is also his older brother.

In his Adamas form, Zeus can only fight for not longer than 13 minutes. But according to Hermes, due to the injuries that Adam gave him he could only use the Adamas for a maximum of 5 minutes. Hence, the time was ticking for both the Gods and humans during this round. Zeus in his Adamas form even made Shiva relaxed and told him that this power can also destroy the breakable heavens.
If it was a fight for endurance, Adam could have stood a chance. However, Zeus’ True Gods Left and Right punches while in Adamas were too much for the human to counter and reflect even with his divine powers. Before Zeus ran out of time, the now-blind Adam already overheated and loses the second round.
This match truly proves that Zeus’ is indeed the Strongest God in the Universe. With just a few bruises, Zeus’ was still the same after the fight. A frail calm old man. The only difference now is that we know how deadly he can be if you mess with him and his beloved Gods.
