The journey to a fantastical world where meals are magical adventures will temporarily pause. Young Ace magazine announced that Virginia Nitōhei’s “Otherworldly Izakaya “Nobu” (Isekai Izakaya “Nobu”) manga series will go on hiatus starting with the next issue.
The creators need time to perfect the serialization schedule for a stronger return on May 2nd in the June issue. Get ready for a return to the magical pub where customers can escape their troubles with familiar Japanese cuisine.
About the Manga

The “Isekai Izakaya “Nobu” manga debuted in July 2015 in Young Ace magazine, with original designs by Kururi. The 16th volume was released in December. Udon Entertainment published the 10th English volume in March 2022. The manga is set in a fictional medieval European city, where a Japanese pub called “Nobu” serves customers, including soldiers, an heiress, a tax collector, and more. The customers can enjoy Japanese cuisine and forget their troubles.
Novels and Adaptations
Natsuya Semikawa first published the “Isekai Izakaya “Nobu” novel series on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in 2012. Takarajimasha printed the series in 2014, with illustrations by Kururi. In April 2018, the series was adapted into a 15-minute net anime, streamed on Crunchyroll (excluding Asia) with subtitles in multiple languages. It was streamed in Asia on bilibili.
In May 2020, the series was adapted into a live-action series, followed by “Isekai Izakaya “Nobu” Season 2: Witch and Archbishop Chapter” in May 2022. The second season included a special episode, “Shinobu and Eva’s Secret Super Sweets.” “Isekai Izakaya “Nobu” Season 3: The Emperor and the Princess of Oilia Arc” started airing in Japan on January 13th.
