Jujutsu Kaisen has put Megumi Fushiguro in his most nasty situation yet in the series, but the cliffhanger from the last chapter teases that Megumi is still on the verge of escaping Sukuna’s grasp!
Things have taken a turn for the worst as the Culling Game becomes more intense, and Sukuna took advantage of the chaos to execute his big move, which he had been preparing since the beginning. Sukuna took over Megumi’s body after triggering his Binding Vow with Yuji, revealing that he is now stronger than ever.
The series’ most recent chapters have shown the type of trouble Sukuna can get into now that he’s fully taken over Megumi’s body, and Yuji and the others are running out of ways to fight back. While Megumi may not have been able to throw off Sukuna’s grip as quickly as Yuji Itadori, it’s evident from the latest part of the series that he’s begun to fight back from the inside. That is not yet totally over.
Chapter 214 of Jujutsu Kaisen has begun Yuji’s complete struggle against Sukuna, and Sukuna is always amazed by how strong Yuji is despite no longer having a link to him. Yet, although Yuji’s power and speed have taken him by surprise, Sukuna is even more perplexed by the fact that he appears to be considerably weaker than he imagined. While delivering what was intended to be a fatal blow to Yuji, he notices that Yuji’s cuts aren’t as deep as he had anticipated.
It’s at this point that Sukuna finds his Cursed Energy output is significantly reduced, and with him blaming Megumi for it, it’s more apparent more than ever that Megumi is still somewhere within his body, fighting back against Sukuna’s control. But it’s still not enough to fight back entirely or even take control of his body, so perhaps he can work with Yuji to get to a point where they can rescue Megumi’s body.
