A KPOP and Anime Crossover you never saw coming! Chainsaw Man was probably one of the largest new anime series to debut last year, with the first twelve episodes of the adaption sweeping the globe by storm not just because of Denji’s tragic narrative, but also because of the visual and rocking melodies sprinkled throughout the television program.
Kick Back by artist Kenshi Yonezu has become so famous that it has piqued the interest of a big singer, as Jungkook of the K-Pop band BTS grabbed the chance to cover the thumping beat.
One fan was able to record Jungkook’s version of the iconic Chainsaw Man theme song on a recent live stream, giving the opening tune his unique flair that has helped drive BTS up the charts in the world of music since the K-Pop group’s debut.

While the Kick Back theme played in each episode of Chainsaw Man’s first season, each closing music was different, usually reflecting the gruesome events that had occurred in the half-hour escapades.
BTS, the iconic K-Pop boy band that has taken the globe by storm, hasn’t formally collaborated with the gory anime franchise, but it’s evident that artist Jungkook enjoys the explosive music. With anime fans waiting for the Studio MAPPA adaptation’s second season to be announced, perhaps BTS will have a role in composing a theme song for forthcoming episodes, but nothing has been confirmed at this time.
Tatsuki Fujimoto’s Chainsaw Man was one of the best adaptations that came out during the Fall 2022 Season, and many fans are looking forward to seeing more of what this anime can offer. Though it is still surprising to see a famous star watching and keeping up with the series, we know it is because Chainsaw Man definitely deserves the hype!
