Kaguya-sama: Love is War announced on their official website on Thursday that Kaguya-sama: Love is War – The First Kiss Never Ends (Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: First Kiss wa Owaranai) is getting an anime film that will debut in Japan in winter 2022.
The movie will adapt the manga’s story arc of the same name. The arc follows the conclusion of the third season of the anime. After a special screening in theaters, the anime will air on Japanese television.
The final hour-long episode of Kaguya-sama: Love is War – Ultra Romantic-, the series’ third season, aired on June 24 and was the first to announce the new anime film. The third season of the anime premiered on April 9. The U.S. premiere advanced screening was held on April 2 at the Aratani Theater in Los Angeles and the Japan Society in New York.

Kaguya-sama: Love is War started as a romantic comedy manga series by Aka Akasaka. Its serialization began in Shueisha’s seinen manga magazine Miracle Jump on May 19, 2015 and was moved to Weekly Young Jump on March 24, 2016, The manga is licensed in English by Viz Media in North America.
Shinta Sakayama’s spin-off manga Kaguya-sama Wants to Make Him Confess – Dojin Edition (Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Dojin-ban) debuted on Shueisha’s Tonari no Young Jump website on June 14, 2018, and was serialized on the second and fourth Thursday of the month. The spin-off concluded on June 25, 2020. Shueisha released four tankobon volumes of the manga between December 19, 2018 , and July 17, 2020.
The series received a 12-episode anime adaptation that aired from January 12 to March 30, 2019 and was broadcasted on several Japanese channels including MBS, Tokyo MX, and BS11 among others.

Aniplex of America acquired the license for the anime in North America, and the series was streamed on Crunchyroll, Hulu, and FunimationNow. The series is licensed by Muse Communication in Southeast Asia and is streaming on Netflix, Bilibili, and iQIYI.
A second season, titled Kaguya-sama: Love is War? aired from April 11 to June 27, 2020. The third season Kaguya-sama: Love is War -Ultra Romantic- aired from April 9 to June 25, 2020.
The series was also adapted into a live-action film that premiered in Japan on September 6, 2019, starring Sho Hirano as Miyuki Shirogane and Kanna Hashimoto as Kaguya Shinomiya. Kaguya-sama Final: Love is War, a sequel to the live-action film premiered in Japan on August 20, 2021.
