Fans of action sci-fi TV anime KanColle: Itsuka Ano Umi de, the second season of the KanColle anime, will have to wait almost a month to catch the next episode of the series. The official website for the anime announced on Friday, Dec 23, that its sixth episode will arrive next year on January 19. The reason for the delay was not revealed.
Prior to the announcement, the fourth episode of the anime also got delayed for about three weeks. Instead of premiering on November 24, the said episode premiered on December 15. The fifth episode aired on December 22.
Based on a web browser game called Kantai Collection, KanColle anime first premiered in January 2015. Crunchyroll streamed the series. A film titled Kantai Collection -KanColle- was also launched in 2016, amassing over 560 million yen in Japan. Funimation later released the English dub of the TV anime in 2017.
The first season was followed by KanColle: Itsuka Ano Umi de in 2022. Itsuka Ano Umi de, however, is not a continuation of the previous season. Instead, the latest series focuses on the Nishimura Fleet and is set on an alternate timeline. It premiered on November 3 and is scheduled to have a total of eight episodes.
Kazuya Miura is directing the anime at ENGI. Kensuke Tanaka is the scriptwriter, with Chika Nōmi as the character designer. Kaori Ohkoshi is composing the music, with Yuichi Imaizumi as the sound director.
