Hold tight, KanColle fans! After all the twists and sudden delays, we’re now only a month away from seeing the end of the second season of the popular sci-fi anime. The official Twitter account for KanColle: Itsuka Ano Umi de announced on Sunday, Feb 12, that the show’s eighth and final episode is set to air on March 25 at 8:30 PM.
Launched on Nov 3, 2022, the second season of the KanColle anime was intentionally limited to only eight episodes to allow high-quality production by delivering a more condensed story. The series, however, encountered numerous delays in the release of its various episodes due to COVID-19.
Specifically, its episode four got rescheduled from Nov 24 to Dec 15. This was immediately followed by the fifth episode on Dec 22.
The sixth episode of the series, however, experienced yet another delay and was moved to January 19.
The seventh episode, which comes before the finale, only aired last Sunday, Feb 12.

Based on a web browser game called Kantai Collection, KanColle anime first premiered in January 2015. Crunchyroll streamed the series. A film titled Kantai Collection -KanColle- was also launched in 2016, amassing over 560 million yen in Japan. Funimation later released the English dub of the TV anime in 2017.
Among the key cast members include Saki Fujita, Yumi Tanabe, Aya Suzaki, Yui Horie, Iori Nomizu, Yui Ogura, Risa Taneda, Kozue Hayasaka, Wakana Miyakawa, Mana Komatsu, Ayana Taketatsu, Yuki Yamada, and Nao Tōyama.
Kazuya Miura is directing the anime at ENGI. Kensuke Tanaka is the scriptwriter, with Chika Nōmi as the character designer. Kaori Ohkoshi is composing the music, with Yuichi Imaizumi as the sound director.
