One Piece’s live-action series is now in production for Season 2 with Netflix, and Mackenyu, the actor of Roronoa Zoro, is teasing some of the huge shocks coming in the next season! One Piece’s live-action premiere was one of the most well-received anime and manga adaptations in recent years, and it dominated Netflix for a few weeks when it aired last summer. That’s why it came as no surprise when Netflix announced intentions to renew the live-action series for another season shortly.
One Piece Season 2 is still a long way off, but the series may take a lot of inspiration from Eiichiro Oda’s original manga series for its plot. Speaking with Augustman ahead of the new season, Mackenyu teased what may be in store for One Piece. While emphasizing that there is no screenplay or production date for the upcoming season as of the time of the interview, Mackenyu expressed his excitement for the arrival of one new character.
I’m very excited for season two of One Piece. Actually, I don’t know what’s coming up; there isn’t even a script or a shoot date yet, so there isn’t much I can say about it. Chopper’s going to be there.
So, while it’s not a specific tease regarding the series’ future, it is proof that the new season isn’t nearly ready yet.
One Piece Season 2 is currently in the works, and with the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes ending late last year, production on the series has resumed. As of the time of writing, no prospective release date or window has been confirmed, however, the additional episodes might be released in 2025. However, with Chopper and other crucial characters making their debuts, the wait will most certainly be worthwhile.
Netflix’s One Piece did receive a lot of love from the fans last year, and it will not be a surprise if the second season of the show is a well-anticipated one!
