In the year 202X, electric cars without any internal combustion engine are widely used in Japan. However, the racing circuit called the MFG still utilizes internal combustion engine cars, which attracted worldwide attention.

A British-Japanese young man, Kanata Livington, joined the MFG after graduating from a top racing school in United Kingdom. Aside from trying his luck in racing, he also wanted to find his father, Ken Katagiri.

He entered the MFG race using his father’s surname, so he became Kanata Katagiri. He borrowed a car from Ogata, a Toyota 86, that did not seem most suitable for racing. Despite this, Kanata managed to secure a spot among the top 15 among racers with the top-tier supercars. It turns out that the legendary racer, Takumi Fujiwara, was the one who trained Kanata. With this revelation, Kanata has gained attention among the MFG circle.

The trailer showed how MFG differed from the rest of Japan: using cars with internal combustion engines amidst the widespread electric cars.

Kanata Livington has recently moved in Japan from United Kingdom, and has moved in with a family friend, the Saionji couple. There, he met with the Saionji couple’s daughter, Ren.

Kanata was able to use the rather disadvantageous Toyota 86 because of his incredible talent. This impresses everyone in the MFG circuit.

Here is the main cast of MF Ghost:

  • Kanata Katagiri/Livington – voiced by Yuuma Uchida, known for playing Megumi Fushiguro in Jujutsu Kaisen, Kyo Soma in Fruits Basket, and many more
