Yōsuke Saita’s Moriarty the Patriot novels are inspiring a manga adaptation titled Yūkoku no Moriarty: The Remains, Shueisha’s Jump SQ magazine announced Friday, Dec 2. The manga will be drawn by the original artist Hikaru Miyoshi and will launch on March 3 in Jump SQ’s April 2023 issue.

According to Anime News Network, the manga will feature episodes from the novels and some character side stories. The upcoming adaptation will be based on the novel spin-off series written by Yōsuke Saita and is different from Ryōsuke Takeuchi and Hikaru Miyoshi’s main Moriarty the Patriot (Yūkoku no Moriarty) manga which inspired a TV anime in 2020.
There are currently three novels for the Moriarty the Patriot franchise written by Saita, and it’s still unclear whether all three will be transformed into manga.
Meanwhile, Takeuchi and Miyoshi’s main Moriarty the Patriot (Yūkoku no Moriarty) manga is scheduled to return after the upcoming adaptation of the light novels ends.
Moriarty the Patriot is a reimagination of the celebrated Sherlock Holmes series by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. It centers on the life of the antagonist William James Moriarty in his younger years as he rebels against England’s strict class system.
