Ready for yet another romance manga to come on the live-action scene? On Wednesday, Kodansha’s Be Love magazine revealed that Nikki Asada’s manga Mr. Tsukuyomi’s Forbidden Midnight Snack (Tsukuyomi-kun no Kindan Oyashoku) is inspiring a live-action series. More information on the series will be released by the magazine at a later date.

The gourmet romance comedy manga follows the relationship of Tsukuyomi, a foodie and expert chef, and Soyogi, a 27-year-old female personal gym trainer. They meet up on a regular basis so Soyogi may re-energize herself with Tsukuyomi’s food, but they have an agreement that prohibits any romance between them.

The plot centers around the “goddess of beauty,” a personal trainer who motivates others to improve. However, after work, she becomes hungry and depressed. Tsukiyomi-kun, a handsome but mysterious young guy, appears and cooks her a supper that fills her up and cures her spirit, despite the fact that they’ve signed a contract prohibiting any romantic sentiments between them. It’s a forbidden gourmet love comedy involving two people!

After first publishing a one-shot of the manga in September 2021, Asada debuted the manga in Be Love in December 2021. On December 13, Kodansha released the magazine’s second compilation book edition.

Asada ended her The Prince’s Romance Gambit (ji ga Watashi wo Akiramenai!) manga earlier this year on July 1. After Kodansha’s ARIA magazine ceased publishing in February 2015, Asada relocated the manga to Kodansha’s Nakayoshi magazine and Palcy online manga site in July 2018. On August 12, Kodansha released the manga’s 12th and final volume. The manga is published digitally in English by Kodansha USA Publishing, and the 11th volume was released on September 27.

In July 2021, Asada concluded the manga The Springtime of My Life Began with You (Kimi to Aoi Haru no Hajimari). In July 2019, Asada published the comic in Dessert. The manga is being published in English by Kodansha Comics.

Asada is well renowned as the original character designer and novel artist for the Sound! Euphonium franchise.
