Great villains deserve a day off, too! Luckily, anime fans will now have a chance to see how a formidable antagonist spends his time away from battles with the upcoming anime adaptation of Mr. Villain’s Day Off comedy manga. The big announcement was shared by entertainment giant Square Enix on Friday. A promotional video and illustration were also unveiled to commemorate the news.

Based on the manga by Yu Morikawa, Mr Villain’s Day Off is a comedy series launched on the Gangan pixiv website in 2018.
Manga UP! website, the manga’s publisher in English, describes the series as follows:
An Evil Organization from another planet is trying to take over Earth. An extraterrestrial from that organization named the “General” tirelessly fights against Earth’s defenders every single day in a battle of life and death!
However, today is his day off.
Yoshinori Odaka is directing the upcoming anime at studios Shin-Ei Animation and SynergySP. Midori Goto is handling the scripts, while Tomomi Shimazaki is supervising the character designs. Nobuaki Nobusawa is composing the music for the series.
Japanese voice actor Shintarou Asanuma is voicing the main character, Warumono-san or “General.”
Other cast, more key staff members, and the official premiere date for the anime are yet to be revealed.
