The second promotional video for the upcoming television anime adaptation of the light novel series My Happy Marriage (Watashi no Shiawase na Kekkon) was unveiled by Kadokawa recently. The video features a preview of the opening theme song titled “Anata no Soba ni” (By Your Side) by Riria. The anime is set to premiere on July 5, and Netflix will be streaming the series worldwide on the same date.

Additionally, it was announced that Ryohei Kimura will be voicing the character Arata Tsuruki in the series.
The main cast of the anime includes:
- Reina Ueda as Miyo Saimori
- Kaito Ishikawa as Kiyoki Kudo
- Ayane Sakura as Kaya Saimori
- Kōtarō Nishiyama as Kōji Tatsuishi
- Houko Kuwashima as Yurie
- Hiro Shimono as Yoshito Godō
The series is being directed by Takehiro Kubota (Gloomy the Naughty Grizzly) at Kinema Citrus (Made in Abyss). Takao Abo (22/7, Macross Frontier) is responsible for the storyboards and supervision. The series scripts are overseen by Ami Satо̄, Takahito Ōnishi, and Momoka Toyoda. Shōko Yasuda (Happy Sugar Life) is in charge of character design, while Yuushi Koshida (Ghost in the Shell Arise) serves as the 3DCG director. The music for the anime is composed by Evan Call (Violet Evergarden), and the ending theme song titled “Itaphilosophy” is performed by Kashitarō Itō.
About My Happy Marriage
My Happy Marriage novel series, created by Akumi Agitogi and Tsukiho Tsukioka, was launched in January 2019, with Yen Press acquiring the license for the light novels.
The story revolves around Miyo, who is born into a noble family but suffers under the cruelty of her stepmother. She is married off to Kiyoka, a heartless soldier whose previous fiancées fled within three days of their engagement. Despite their rocky start, Miyo gradually opens her heart to her cold and pale husband-to-be, hoping to find true love and happiness.
A manga adaptation by Rito Kohsaka premiered on Square Enix’s Gangan Online website in December 2018. Square Enix Manga & Books is responsible for the physical and digital English release of the manga.
Moreover, a live-action film adaptation of the novels was released in Japan on March 17, achieving the top rank in its opening weekend. It sold 479,700 tickets and earned 654 million yen (approximately US$4.97 million) within the first three days.
Netflix has officially confirmed that it will stream the My Happy Marriage series worldwide starting on July 5. The original soft-subtitled trailer from Kadokawa has been replaced in this article with a hard-subtitled version provided by Netflix.
