The novel series was started in January 2019 by Agitogi and Tsukioka. The light novels were licensed by Yen Press, which described the plot as follows:

Born to a noble family, Miyo is raised by her abusive stepmother and married off to Kiyoka, a soldier so heartless his prior fiancées fled within three days into their engagement. With no home to return to, Miyo slowly starts to open her heart to her cold and pale husband-to-be, despite their rocky introduction… This might just be her chance at finding true love and happiness.

Rito Kohsaka’s manga adaptation launched in December 2018 on Square Enix’s Gangan Online website. Square Enix Manga & Books will publish the manga in English both physically and digitally.

On March 17, a live-action film version of the novels was released in Japan. The picture debuted at number one in Japan, selling 479,700 tickets and earning 654 million yen (about $4.97 million) in its first three days.
