My Hero Academia creator Kohei Horikoshi just dropped a manga recommendation for shonen fans, and his bet is definitely worth checking out! The popular Japanese artist gave a comment on Ryo Ishiyama’s newest series “Dragon and Chameleon,” describing the work as one “written with blood and bones and body and spirit.”

A rough translation of the complete message from Horikoshi reads as follows:
Ishiyama is a person who truly loves shonen manga from the bottom of his heart. You can say he’s someone captured in shonen manga love. This manga is Ryo Ishiyama as he is. The manga bout mangaka is written with blood and bones and body and spirit.
The whole statement was printed in the first volume of Dragon and Chameleon, which goes on sale on Friday, April 21.
Of course, Japanese artist Ryo Ishiyama was quick to share his joy on Twitter after reading the said review by Horikoshi.
Check out what he said below:
A rough translation of his tweet is as follows:
I received a sample of volume 1! My Hero Academia’s author Kohei Horikoshi-sensei wrote a recommendation for the [intro]! I’m super happy! I’m really happy …
Thank you!!
I’ll treasure your comment for the rest of my life!

The Dragon and Chameleon is a shonen manga serialized in Monthly Gangan Joker. The story follows the lives of two mangakas – one already popular and the other a newcomer in the industry. Their lives however changed when they began switching bodies, putting their pride and reputations on the line.
Ryo Ishiyama is definitely not a stranger in the manga industry. Even before Dragon and Chameleon, Ishiyama already has a rich collection of well-known works. Among his popular series include Amalgam of Distortion, Mitsukubi Condor, and One Piece Episode A.
