MAHO FILM’s series is directed by Yuuji Yanase (By the Grace of the Gods), and the series is composed by Yuka Yamada (Tokyo Mew Mew New). The main character designers are Miyako Nishida (In Another World With My Smartphone), Eri Kojima (In the Land of Leadale), Kaho Deguchi (If It’s for My Daughter, I’d Even Defeat a Demon Lord), and Yuuko Ouba (I’m the Villainess, So I’m Taming the Final Boss).

Miki debuted the series in February 2017 on the Shosetsuka ni Narou (Let’s Be Novelists) website. Miki and Subachi began publishing the light novel series in September of 2017. In November 2019, the seventh book volume was released in Japan. Mawata’s manga adaptation debuted in May 2018 on Kodansha’s “Suiybi no Sirius” website. On October 7, Kodansha released the manga’s tenth compiled book volume.

The manga was licensed by Kodansha USA Publishing, who describes the plot as follows:

Ryota Sato gets the surprise of his life when he’s suddenly transported into another world and nearly clobbered at the hands of the young, pretty adventurer Emily Brown. This new world revolves around defeating monsters and profiting on whatever they drop—food, money, items, etc. Unfortunately for Ryota, he has no skills to speak of…until he learns he has the ability to get rare drops! Suddenly his luck turns around…or does it?

The light novel series has also been licensed by Kodansha US.

The total number of copies in circulation for the series has surpassed 1.1 million.
