Who is Nakahara Chuuya?

As mentioned above, Chuuya is one of the executives of the Port Mafia, and he has an ability called Upon the Tainted Sorrow.
Chuuya is a small man with a tiny yet powerful body. He has grey eyes and beautiful orange hair that surrounds his face and falls just past his left shoulder. He is dressed in a black hat with a scarlet hatband and a slender silver chain hanging from the brim.
On the surface, Chuuya appears to be a volatile, arrogant, and rude man. He enjoys fighting, relishing the opportunity to demonstrate his combat prowess, and takes great satisfaction in his status as the mafia’s best martial artist. Taunting words go hand in hand with his pride, since he isn’t beyond mocking his opponents in the heat of battle. He has no qualms about removing the Port Mafia’s adversaries by any means necessary, including murder, but isn’t as violent in his techniques as members such as Ryunosuke Akutagawa and the members of Black Lizard.
Chuuya, as hot-headed as he appears, is not hard to reason with. In fact, when no one is pressing his buttons, he’s rather sensible. While his skills and presence indicate an inherent threat, Mori trusts him enough to assign him the task of confronting the Armed Detective Agency during the Guild’s three-way conflict. It’s true that he didn’t hesitate to retaliate and fight back against Akiko Yosano and Kenji Miyazawa (in fact, he takes great pleasure fighting against people who put up a good fight), but as soon as Yukichi Fukuzawa addresses him for more information.

As ruthless as he is, never takes people’s lives for granted and understands the value of compromise and logic. When necessary, he refrains from using unduly violent measures, and he knows when enough is enough. Notable incidents include his struggle with Arthur Rimbaud, the guy who attempted to murder him long before he joined the Port Mafia at the age of fifteen. Chuuya had every intention of murdering him, yet he heard Rimbaud’s final words without hate or derision. In truth, Rimbaud’s dying words for him had a profound impact on Chuuya’s own perspective on life and himself. He receives Rimbaud’s hat as a welcome present to the Port Mafia and takes excellent care of it as a result.
Chuuya had previously battled immensely with his identity and role in mankind. His connection to Arahabaki caused him to question his humanity, which was exacerbated by the fact that he didn’t know why he was liberated from the government’s custody in the first place. While his ability is his strength, the understanding of a god’s influence on him left him feeling as if he wouldn’t be scared or afraid in a battle, knowing he’d most likely win without a scratch. He attributed this to be, in his opinion, inhuman, and hence incapable of comprehending the profundity of such feelings.

Chuuya’s weakness is his disgust and loathing for Dazai. Chuuya despised Dazai’s shady, perverted strategic attitude, and the two never got along. Dazai has always made an effort to dehumanize and belittle Chuuya, continuously undermining his pride and even causing Sheep to the desert and betray him in the past. Even now, the slightest insult from Dazai sends Chuuya off on a tangent, exploiting his quick temper and pride.

Upon the Tainted Sorrow

Chuuya can influence the gravity of anything or the person he comes into touch with thanks to the Tainted Sorrow. As a result, as long as the matter is contacted someplace with his body, he may modify the direction and force of gravity from its ordinary downward 1G force.
Chuuya often employs his might for attacking objectives. He has the ability to control physical matter in his surroundings, such as the earth he is standing on, to utilize as a weapon and fling toward his opponents, crushing them with force-enhanced matter. Regardless of its size, the object can inflict massive destructive force when its gravity is altered to greater strength and force. He can also stop bullets shot at him and deflect them back to their sources.
Furthermore, Chuuya has direct power over people’s bodily gravities. He can paralyze his opponents’ motions by making their bodies heavy or light enough to make them debilitated by controlling their gravities. For example, he may make them hover by lightening their masses and then slam them to the ground with great power.

He can even alter his own gravity to his liking. He can reduce his body’s gravity to lighten his bulk while attacking at fast speed, allowing his kicks to cut through his targets with the weight of an iron ball. Furthermore, he can manipulate his gravity and sprint at incredible speeds and reflexes without losing momentum. Chuuya can also manage gravity, allowing him to stand upside down on the ceiling, ride his motorcycle sideways on the face of a building, and even walk on the flap of an aerial jet with remarkable ease.
Notably, his ability is diametrically opposed to Ryuro Hirotsu’s repulsion ability, because Chuuya can regulate the force of matter upon contact, whilst Hirotsu may apply an opposing force relative to the touch surface. Furthermore, because Upon the Tainted Sorrow is largely based on gravity rules to work, it has a natural weakness against Arthur Rimbaud’s subspaces that do not follow physical principles. As a result, Chuuya is unable to protect himself against Rimbaud’s massless spatial waves, nor is he able to use his gift as effortlessly as he can in a natural, physical situation. Furthermore, Osamu Dazai, like all other abilities, can negate Chuuya’s ability upon touch.

Chuuya’s Corruption: The True Form

Chuuya’s actual skill is corruption, and it is extremely harmful. He can use this talent to influence the gravitons in his environment. He can smash a tank with his bare hands by increasing his own density. He can also blast compressed gravity balls that function like black holes that engulf anything. However, he has no control over his Ability’s real form; if his Ability is not negated, he will remain in that condition until he dies.
It derives from Chuuya’s beginnings as the being Arahabaki, a God of enormous destructive power. When Chya loses control of his powers, Corruption takes over, thereby returning Chya to his actual, uncontrollable nature, which exists simply for destruction. When activating Corruption, Chya removes his gloves in deference to his own ideas. It is triggered by the following verses:
To thee the granting of a gloomy corruption,
May ye never awaken again.
[ 汝陰鬱なる汚濁の許容よ,
更めてわれを目覚ますことなかれ. ]
Despite being endowed with incredible power and strength, Chuuya has no control over his ability’s real form. As a result, unless his ability is disabled, he will remain in that state until he dies. As a result, No Longer Human is now the sole option to halt Chuuya’s Corruption-fueled rampages.
