One Piece’s live-action series has been in the works for Season 2 for Netflix, and one of the stars behind the series has teased that filming will begin not “too long from now.”
One Piece was such a massive hit for Netflix upon its debut that a second season was announced not long after. Following the end of the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes last year, work on One Piece Season 2 began to resume in full. According to Sanji actor Taz Skylar, filming appears to be commencing soon.
Skylar told Digital Spy that there are already filming dates planned for the second season of the One Piece live-action series.
I know they’re working on it. I know we have general dates for when we are going back to South Africa, which isn’t too long from now.Taz Skylar, Sanji
It appears like the new season of the series is moving forward now that everyone has returned and is engaged in the production. This makes a lot of sense given how popular it remains.
Skylar teased the start of production and revealed more about what fans can expect to see in One Piece Season 2.
I love the way that they’re adapting it, and I love what they’re doing with each one of our characters. We all as a cast, as a team, as a crew, we are so excited to get back together, because the first time was such a great experience and we made so many great friends…And we love South Africa, so we all can’t wait to go back there this year and hopefully knock it out of the park again.Taz Skylar, Sanji
One Piece Season 2 is now in the works for Netflix, although no release window or date has been announced as of this writing. If the series begins production shortly, we may potentially be looking at a 2025 premiere date if all goes well. At the very least, we’ll learn about some new crucial additions to the cast in the next year for some of the major storylines that the next season will tackle.
