The Naruto franchise is getting a new manga in the summer of 2023. The one-shot manga will star Naruto’s father, Minato Namikaze, and will be published in a summer issue of Weekly Shōnen Jump.
The manga was announced on the official Naruto Twitter account. The tweet reads:
“A one-shot manga starring Minato Namikaze, the winner of the NARUTOP99 character poll, will be published in a summer issue of Weekly Shōnen Jump!”
The NARUTOP99 character poll was held in 2022 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Naruto franchise. Minato won the poll with over 200,000 votes.
Minato was the Fourth Hokage of Konohagakure and the father of Naruto Uzumaki. He was a highly skilled shinobi and was known for his speed and power. Minato died during the Nine-Tails Attack on Konohagakure, but his legacy continues to inspire his son and the rest of the shinobi world.
The release date of the one-shot manga has not yet been announced. However, fans can expect it to be released sometime in the summer of 2023.
In addition to the new manga, the Boruto: Naruto Next Generations anime series is also getting a new season. Part 1 of the anime series concluded on March 26, 2023. Part 2 is expected to be released sometime in 2024.
