The official website for Detective Conan: Kurogane no Submarine has released a new trailer. The trailer offers a preview of the film’s theme song Utsukushii Hire (Beautiful Fin) by rock band SPITZ. This marks the 26th installment in the popular Detective Conan anime franchise. Fans of the series can look forward to another thrilling adventure with their favorite characters, as they solve yet another perplexing mystery.
Detective Conan fans are eagerly awaiting the release of the latest film in the franchise, which is set to hit theaters in Japan on April 14. The story takes place on Hachijō-jima island, south of central Tokyo, where engineers from around the world are gathering to witness the launch of a new system that connects all law enforcement camera systems and enables facial recognition worldwide.
Conan receives an invitation from Sonoko to attend and is joined by over 20 characters in the film. However, things take a dark turn when Subaru Okiya informs Conan that a Europol agent has been murdered in Germany by the Black Organization’s Gin. As Conan tours the new facility, the Black Organization kidnaps a female engineer, seeking a piece of important data in her USB drive.

Ikki Sawamura has been cast to play Yо̄suke Makino, director of Interpol’s Pacific Buoy facility, in the film. The movie will be directed by Yuzuru Tachikawa (known for Mob Psycho 100, Blue Giant, Case Closed: Zero the Enforcer, Death Parade), with the screenplay written by Takeharu Sakurai (who has previously worked on six other Detective Conan films, including Detective Conan: The Scarlet Bullet). Yūgo Kanno, who has worked on music for Detective Conan: The Bride of Halloween, Psycho-Pass, and JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders, will compose the music for the film.
In addition to the upcoming film, fans have also been enjoying Meitantei Conan Haibara Ai Monogatari: Kurogane no Mystery Train, a new compilation film that opened in Japan on January 6.
This compilation film combines the anime’s four-episode Jet-Black Mystery Train arc (episodes 701-704) with key scenes featuring the character Ai Haibara from other parts of the television anime’s run, as well as new footage connecting the film to Detective Conan: Kurogane no Submarine at the end of the movie.
Fans of Detective Conan have plenty to look forward to in the coming months with both the new film and the recent compilation film.
