Adachitoka’s popular manga series Noragami will conclude with its 27th volume, according to an announcement on Kodansha’s Monthly Shonen Magazine website on February 16, 2023. The news was revealed alongside the release of volume 26.
“The upcoming volume will be the final volume of Noragami,” the website states.
Volume 27 is set to release at the end of 2023, bringing an end to the beloved series that has captured the hearts of fans since it first began serialization in December 2010.
Noragami started its serialization in Monthly Shonen Magazine in December 2010 and has since been collected into 26 tankobon volumes as of February 2023. Noragami has been a fan favorite since its debut, known for its unique blend of humor, action, and touching character development. It has been published in English by Kodansha USA since September 2014. The company describes the original manga:
Yato is a homeless god. He doesn’t even have a shrine, not to mention worshippers! So to achieve his ambitious goals, he’s set up a service to help those in need (for a small fee), hoping he’ll eventually raise enough money to build himself the lavish temple of his dreams. Of course, he can’t afford to be picky, so Yato accepts all kinds of jobs, from finding lost kittens to helping a student overcome bullies at school.
Noragami has also received two anime adaptations. The first season, a 12-episode series, aired from January to March 2014, while the second season, titled Noragami Aragoto, aired from October to December 2015. Both seasons were produced by Bones and were highly praised by fans for their faithful adaptation of the manga.
As a follower of the Noragami manga and anime, I was saddened to hear that the series would be coming to an end with volume 27. However, I’m excited to see how Adachitoka will wrap up the story and provide closure for the characters. I’ll be eagerly anticipating the release of the final volume later this year.
