WARNING SPOILER ALERT!
The chapter, titled “The Truth of That Day”, reveals some important details about Sabo’s past and mission in Mary Geoise, the holy land of the World Government.
Sabo is one of the three sworn brothers of Monkey D. Luffy, the main protagonist of One Piece. He is also the second-in-command of the Revolutionary Army, a group that opposes the World Government and its corruption. He inherited Ace’s fire-based Devil Fruit power, the Flame-Flame Fruit, after Ace’s death.
The chapter begins with a flashback of Sabo’s childhood, when he was a noble from the Goa Kingdom. He ran away from his abusive family and met Luffy and Ace, two other boys who dreamed of becoming pirates. They became friends and shared a bond of brotherhood by exchanging sake cups.
However, their happiness was short-lived, as Sabo’s father found him and tried to take him back. Sabo resisted and tried to escape on a boat, but a celestial dragon named Saint Jalmack shot him down. A World Noble’s ship also destroyed his boat. Luffy and Ace presumed Sabo was dead and mourned his loss.
Sabo’s Mission and Revenge
The flashback then shifts to the present day, where Sabo is seen in Mary Geoise, disguised as a guard. He sneaks into a room where Saint Jalmack is resting and confronts him. He reveals his identity and tells him that he is here to take revenge for what he did to him ten years ago. He also says that he is here to free Kuma, a former member of the Revolutionary Army who became a slave of the World Government. He uses his fire fist and dragon claw techniques to break Saint Jalmack’s mask and expose his face.
Sabo then faces another obstacle: Saint Rosward, another celestial dragon who recognizes him as one of the revolutionaries. Rosward also has Kuma’s former bounty poster and knows that he was a former Shichibukai (one of the seven powerful pirates who worked for the World Government). He orders his guards to capture Sabo and Kuma. Sabo fights back and manages to escape with Kuma, but not before leaving a message for Luffy on a newspaper that reported his death.
Sabo’s Report and Message
The chapter ends with Sabo reporting his mission to Dragon, the leader of the Revolutionary Army and Luffy’s father. He tells him that he achieved his objectives and that he also left a message for Luffy. Dragon asks him what he wrote, and Sabo replies that he wrote “I’m alive”.
