The highest-grossing film in Japan so far for 2022 is finally coming to the United States. One Piece Film: Red is confirmed for a US cinema release date this October. The announcement was revealed during the USC Trojans vs Rice Owls’ NCAA football game on Saturday.
A video introduction of the main hero, Monkey D. Luffy, was flashed on the screen for the big reveal. The “Sprit of Troy” marching band performed popular One Piece anime songs “We Are!” and “Over the Top” to celebrate the occasion. The marching band also played “New Genesis,” the official theme song of the movie.
A video record of the event was published on the official Twitter account of Toei Animation.
One Piece Film: Red is the 15th movie in the One Piece franchise. The storyline of the film was described as follows:

Renowned for concealing her own identity when performing, her voice has come to be described as “otherworldly.” Now, for the first time ever, Uta will herself to the world at a live concert. As the venue fills with all kinds of Uta fans —excited pirates, the Navy watching closely, and the Straw Hats led by Luffy who simply came to enjoy her sonorous performance —the voice that the whole world has been waiting for is about to resound. The story begins with the shocking fact that she is Shanks’ daughter.
